Cracking the genetic code of immune cells to unlock new ways to treat and prevent disease.
The genomics team in the Hugh Green Technology Centre helps researchers uncover how genes shape health and disease. By studying how genes are switched on and off in different immune cells, the team provides powerful insights into how our bodies respond to illness, infection and treatment.
The team supports scientists in designing, running and analysing genomic projects using a range of platforms that allow both targeted gene analysis and large-scale single-cell and spatial studies. These capabilities make it possible to see where and how genetic changes occur within tissues, revealing new levels of understanding in biology and disease.
By enabling deeper, more precise exploration of the genome, the genomics team plays a vital role in advancing research that will lead to better diagnostics, treatments, and health outcomes for people across Aotearoa New Zealand.
