Mali is the Head of the Malaghan's Project Management Office and is responsible for overseeing both strategic and departmental projects across the Institute. She also serves as the Project Manager for the Mules Lab.

Mali joined the Malaghan Institute in 1996, working under Professor Graham Le Gros as a research scientist. In 2015, she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Management Studies and, in 2019, became the Team Leader for the Hookworm Therapies Team, coordinating the first Hookworm Therapy study in New Zealand. Drawing on her extensive experience across both scientific and operational areas, Mali took on the role of Head of the Project Management Office in 2024.
