Gary Quirke
Trustee 2001-2014
Appointed to the Trust Board in 2001, when he was Managing Director of P&O Nedlloyd, Gary Quirke’s extensive background in the commercial sector both in New Zealand and overseas made him a formidable and highly valued member of the Board’s Audit and Risk Committee. He was recognised as a Distinguished Trustee in 2021.
As a keen community fundraiser, he was also a member of the Advocacy Committee and worked with management to develop and implement fundraising strategies. When he stepped down from the Board in 2014, the institute was fortunate to retain him as a co-opted member of the Audit and Risk Committee, a position he continues to hold today.
