Dame Patsy Reddy

Dame Patsy Reddy was appointed to the Malaghan Trust Board in 2024. She served as the Governor-General of New Zealand from 2016–2021. 

Trained as a lawyer, Dame Patsy Reddy has had extensive experience in non-executive governance and business consulting roles in both the public and private sector, and with creative and charitable organisations. She is currently the Chair of the Climate Change Commission and the NZSO Foundation and a trustee of the Aspen Institute of NZ. 

She is Patron of the NZ Centre for Brain Research, Sarjeant Gallery Te Whare o Rehua Whanganui, the Wellington Sculpture Trust, NZ Opera, Hospice Wairarapa and He Ringa Āwhina – the Wellington Regional Charity Hospital Trust.

Dame Patsy has previously served as Chair of New Zealand Rugby and the NZ Film Commission and as Deputy Chair of NZ Transport Agency.  Other former directorships include Air New Zealand, NZ Post, SkyCity Entertainment and Telecom New Zealand.

She was made a Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2014 for services to arts and business and a Grand Companion of the Order in 2016 for services to the nation.
