Glioma Clinical Trial
In 2006 the Malaghan Institute received ethics committee approval to evaluate the possibility of using dendritic cell-based vaccines to treat glioma (brain cancer).
This work is being undertaken in collaboration with Mr Martin Hunn, a neurosurgeon from Wellington Hospital, and will facilitate the design of a future phase I trial aimed to test the feasibility and safety of using dendritic cell vaccines in combination with standard chemotherapy for the treatment of this aggressive disease.
