"Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success."
- Henry Ford
One of the key goals of the Malaghan Institute is to benefit and bring hope to the New Zealand community through scientific research, education and application of new knowledge. The Institute has a commitment to educating, fostering and developing scientists, which it regards as essential to the continuing success of scientific research in New Zealand.
More than 50 full-time Malaghan Institute scientists working within seven core research programmes are developing novel strategies to treat cancer, asthma, arthritis, multiple sclerosis and infectious diseases.
Supporting the Malaghan Institute's mission and promoting awareness of the Institute's research activities are the tireless members of the Malaghan Institute Trust Board and Friends Committees.
