Bequests

So many people depend on our research.   Just as they depend on us, we rely on people like you to ensure a disease-free future.   To continue our research at the Institute, we are very dependant on bequests.   With this in mind, we have developed an endowment fund that will grow from major gifts and bequests and which will continue to benefit the Institute for the many years to come.

A bequest to the Malaghan Institute should be thoroughly planned. To assist you, we provide the following format:

“I give and bequeath to The Malaghan Institute of Medical Research" ...

Requesting one or more of the following wishes stated below.

    The amount of ( $ ) ( in words )
    Or a percentage ( % ) ( in words ) of my estate
Or Clearly stating the following property and assets listed below:
Or The residue of my estate

For its general purposes (or for the purpose of Malaghan Institute of Medical Research) and I declare that the receipt of the Chief Executive or other proper officer shall be full and sufficient discharge to my trustees”

(This information is not intended as specific legal advice. Please consult your own legal advisor)

It is also possible to allocate your bequest to a specified purpose such as a particular research programme, PhD scholarship or the purchase/maintenance of specific scientific equipment.

If you would like to visit the Institute and talk about leaving a bequest, please contact us. This would give you an opportunity to meet the scientists, walk through our laboratories, and learn about the diverse range of research projects you might like to support and it gives us the opportunity to personally thank you and discuss options to commemorate your legacy.

A bequest in your will to the Malaghan Institute is an investment in the future of your family, friends and future generations and it is a gift that keeps giving.
